schnerbst. • 1 yr. ago. I would suggest something like this for core mesmer: BUILD. Long range, big dmg, lots of tanking done by your clones. one of the safest glass canon builds i've played so far. Also transitions seamlessly into a phantasm chrono if you want to take it to the next level. Nightcrawl-EUW.
Gw2 on the other hand, while tbf it takes like one session now to get to 80 thanks to the achievements they added last year, if it wasn't for that, I would not put myself through HOURS of repetitive world exploration just to get my 6th alt up to raiding level. Once was enough, and it felt like forever. Second time? Feels like a chore.
Also before they unlocked the raptor at level 10, boosting to 80 and doing the first path of fire story instance would unlock the raptor account wide ( it still does). You can also do the first heart of thorns instance to unlock the glider mastery, and then you level the first mastery level and get account wide gliding.
One good thing to do first, if you haven't already, is get a full set of level 80 exotic equipment. You can buy it from the trading post with gold, from the temples in Orr with karma, from WvW merchants with badges of honour, or from the dungeon merchant with dungeon tokens. Or you can mix and match pieces from different sources if you don't Dungeons! Most of the dungeons come between 75-80, and I know if you just hit 80 you don't have enough tokens for that super awesome looking gear you want from that one dungeon to make your character look completely badass. Go. Grind. Get it!! You no longer need experience, so everything you do should be with purpose.
Lvling a character from 55 till 80 doesn't take a long time. Since the boost will give a Celestial gear set, I suggest create a new character that will benefit from Celestial set and boost it to level 80. #8. tatiana Jul 22 @ 2:26am.
